Sancus Capital Group

Sancus Capital Group is a leading entrepreneurial private equity firm whose mission is to be the best possible partner to business owners, management teams, and CEO's.

Our Principles

Sancus Capital Group, which is based in La Jolla, California, is led by Justin Crane, a successful private equity investor and mergers and acquisitions professional who has closed over 20 platform and add-on acquisitions as a private equity sponsor representing in excess of $190M of total transaction value.

In ancient Roman religion, Sancus was a god of trust, honesty, and oaths.  Mr. Crane selected “Sancus” as the firm’s name because it symbolizes the firm’s ideals and values – authenticity, high integrity, transparency, collaboration, consistency, trustworthiness as well as honoring our word.  At Sancus, it is our mission to be the best possible partner to business owners, management teams, and CEO’s who share our ideals and values.  It is our fundamental belief that private equity is a “people business”, and thus, we are strongly focused on building trusted relationships with exceptionally talented people who share our ideals and values.   Further, we dedicate significant attention to gaining a mutual understanding of what our partnership will look like to make sure the partnership begins with everyone on the same page and with clear expectations from one another.  Our culture, philosophy, approach to partnering, and values underpin our mission to be the best possible partner to business owners, management teams, and exceptional CEO’s.
